Mushrooms - Painting from reference...

I just can't get enough of Fungi... They make great photos and paintings!

I absolutely adore being out in the forest and have spent a lot of time hiking. Over the years I have gathered literally thousands of beautiful reference photos to paint from.

It was always a goal of mine to be working from my own reference material. So when life allowed the time, I got out in the forest and gathered what I needed.

The forests nearby display a continuous exhibition of many types of fungi. Soooo many varieties, shapes, colours... in ever changing stages of life.

I love these recent paintings done in acrylic on canvas. I can still remember taking these photos and the excitement to one day turn them in to paintings.
